Starting Jan 1, 2026, professional padel (Premier Padel & all FIP tours) uses theStar Point rule to avoid endless deuce rallies. Social club casual play still often uses traditional unlimited advantage scoring or old golden point rules.

Stage 1: First time reaching 4040 (Deuce 1)
1. One team wins the next point →Advantage 1
If this team wins the following point → they win the game
If they lose the point → score reverts toDeuce 2
Stage 2: Second time back to 4040 (Deuce 2)
1. One team wins the next point →Advantage 2
Win the next point = game over
Lose the point = move straight toStar Point (Deciding Point)
Stage 3: Star Point (triggered after two deuce cycles)
Onlyone single point decides the whole game
Receiving team chooses which side (left/right) to receive serve; players cannot swap positions last minute
Winner of this point wins the entire game
